A one-time office carpet cleaning project at Glenmarie Industrial Park, Shah Alam, carried out on 13 and 14 June 2026. The work covered the carpeted ground floor of the office together with floor scrubbing, using a low-moisture encapsulation method to lift embedded dirt and stains from the carpet fibres.
This project involved professional carpet cleaning for an office in Glenmarie Industrial Park, Shah Alam, one of Selangor’s established business and industrial areas. The client arranges a deep carpet clean once a year and engaged our team on a one-time basis, without a long-term contract, to carry out this year’s cleaning over two days.
The scope covered 1,550 sq ft of carpet on the ground floor together with floor scrubbing, across an overall project area of 4,300 sq ft. Office carpet in daily use collects fine dust, grit and everyday spills that settle deep in the pile, where routine vacuuming does not reach. Over a year, this gradually dulls the carpet’s colour and texture, especially along walkways and around workstations.
Because the job combined carpet cleaning and hard-floor scrubbing inside a working office, it needed a structured approach: preparing each area, removing dry soil first, treating the carpet with a low-moisture encapsulation method, and scrubbing hard floors separately so that each surface was cleaned with a suitable technique.
The main cleaning area was the carpeted ground floor of the office, including work areas around desks, walkways between rooms and the routes leading in from the entrance. The remaining hard-floor areas within the 4,300 sq ft site required floor scrubbing. Priorities differed by area: entrance routes and walkways typically carry the most tracked-in soil, while carpet under and around workstations collects dust, crumbs and marks from chair castors.
Commercial office carpet is usually a dense, low-pile product that responds well to thorough cleaning but should not be over-wetted. Too much water can lengthen drying time, leave residue that attracts new soil, and affect the carpet backing or adhesive. A low-moisture encapsulation method was therefore suitable: it cleans the fibres effectively while keeping water use low, so the office can return to normal use sooner. Hard floors, by contrast, needed scrubbing to remove ingrained grime that routine mopping leaves behind.
Quality for an annual carpet clean is judged on the overall result: an even, refreshed appearance across the carpet, fewer visible marks in busy areas, clean edges along walls and furniture, and clean, dry hard floors when the work is handed over.
Before the work started, the site was reviewed so the cleaning plan suited the carpet, the floor surfaces and the office layout. The main practical considerations were:
Desks, chairs, cabinets and cabling limit open floor space, so carpet under and between workstations had to be cleared or worked around carefully.
With deep cleaning done once a year, walkways and entrance routes hold more embedded soil than the rest of the carpet and need extra attention.
Carpet and hard floors need different methods and equipment, and the work had to be sequenced so dirt and water were not carried onto freshly cleaned carpet.
Carpet needs to be dry enough for the office to be used again, so moisture levels and airflow were managed throughout the carpet cleaning.
The full carpet and floor scrubbing scope had to be planned and completed within 13 and 14 June 2026.
The work combined dry soil removal, targeted stain treatment, low-moisture encapsulation carpet cleaning and mechanical floor scrubbing, using equipment and materials suited to commercial office floors.
Safety considerations: wet-floor signs around areas being cleaned or scrubbed, careful routing of power cables, clear walkways, good ventilation, and handling of cleaning compounds according to their usage instructions with suitable gloves.
The carpeted ground floor and hard-floor areas were checked for heavily soiled routes, visible stains and obstacles. Movable chairs, bins and small items were cleared where possible, and wet-floor signs were placed before work began.
The 1,550 sq ft of carpet was vacuumed thoroughly with commercial vacuum cleaners in overlapping passes. Removing dry dust and grit first is essential in professional carpet cleaning, because loose soil would otherwise turn into mud once the cleaning compound is applied.
Visible marks, such as drink spills and dark patches along walkways, were pre-treated with suitable spotting solutions and gently agitated. Each stain was worked from the outside in to avoid spreading it across the carpet.
The carpet was cleaned with an extraction machine using a low-moisture technique. An encapsulation compound was worked into the fibres, where it surrounds and bonds with dirt, stains, chemical residue and other grime and separates them from the carpet fibres. Encapsulated soil is then removed through the cleaning process and routine vacuuming, while the low water use helps the carpet dry faster than traditional wet cleaning.
Hard-floor areas within the overall 4,300 sq ft site were machine scrubbed with a suitable floor cleaning solution to loosen ingrained dirt, and the dirty water was recovered. Edges and corners that machines cannot reach were scrubbed by hand.
Airflow was used to support drying where needed. A final walk-through on 14 June checked the carpet for an even appearance and clean edges and the hard floors for remaining marks, before furniture and items were returned to place.
The project was completed within the scheduled two days, covering the full planned scope: 1,550 sq ft of ground-floor carpet cleaned with the low-moisture encapsulation method and floor scrubbing across the remaining areas of the 4,300 sq ft site.
Removing a year’s build-up of dust, grit and everyday stains left the carpet looking cleaner and more uniform, particularly along walkways and around workstations, while the scrubbed hard floors were left clean and presentable. Because the low-moisture method uses limited water, the carpeted areas could be returned to use without a long drying period, leaving the office ready for staff and visitors.
The job also adds to our practical experience of commercial carpet cleaning in working offices: coordinating carpet cleaning and hard-floor scrubbing in the same project, sequencing the work so the surfaces did not affect each other, and managing moisture and drying time across a defined schedule.

The approach used in this project – thorough dry soil removal, targeted stain treatment, low-moisture encapsulation carpet cleaning and mechanical floor scrubbing – applies to many other carpeted and mixed-floor commercial spaces. These include corporate offices, the office areas of factories and warehouses, meeting and training rooms, commercial buildings, educational facilities and managed properties. Carpet cleaning is one of our specialised cleaning services, and it is often arranged alongside regular commercial cleaning and housekeeping.
We provide commercial carpet cleaning in Shah Alam, including Glenmarie, and across the wider Selangor and Kuala Lumpur and Selangor service area. See more completed work on Our Projects, or contact our team to discuss your premises.
Common questions about professional office carpet cleaning for offices and commercial premises.
It usually includes a pre-inspection, thorough dry vacuuming, pre-treatment of stains, deep cleaning of the carpet with a suitable method, detailing of edges and corners, and a final check once the carpet is dry. The exact scope depends on the carpet type, its condition and the area to be cleaned.
It is a carpet cleaning method that uses a cleaning compound and very little water. The compound surrounds and bonds with dirt and stains, separating them from the carpet fibres so they can be removed. Because less water is used, carpets typically dry faster and the risk of over-wetting is reduced.
Low-moisture methods generally dry faster than traditional wet cleaning. The actual drying time depends on the carpet type, how soiled it is, ventilation and air-conditioning, which is why airflow is often used to support drying.
It depends on foot traffic and how the space is used. Many offices schedule a deep carpet clean at least once a year, as in this project, with more frequent attention for busy walkways and entrances.
